William R. Ringo
28 years of experience with Eli Lilly and
Company where he served on the Operations Committee.
He retired as President of Oncology and Critical Care
Products. Bill brings a global understanding of the
pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industry
segments as reflected in the number of leadership positions
he has held at Lilly. These include Vice President of
Sales and Marketing for Cardiac Pacemakers, Inc., a
former Lilly subsidiary, and Director of Business Planning
for Lilly's Medical Devices and Diagnostics Division
and President and GM of Eli Lilly Canada, Inc. in 1988.
He returned to Indianapolis in 1991 as Executive Director
of Market Research. Subsequently promoted to Vice President,
Marketing for U.S. Pharmaceutical Operations in 1993
and Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 1994. Named
President of the Infectious Diseases business unit in
1995. Currently serves on the board of a number of early-stage
life science companies including Suros Surgical Systems;
Praecis Pharmaceutical, Inc., La Jolla Pharmaceuticals;
Texas Biotechnology, Inc., Intermunne, Inc., and XCEL.
Bill is also a member of the Scientific Board of Advisors
for Burrell Ventures. He has a BS degree in Management
and MBA degree, both from the University of Dayton,
Dayton, Ohio.
